Since I was very young, I have always liked to read and write stories. Art is something fascinating, which allows us to show what we interpret as beautiful, ugly, good, bad, and everything in between. Art lets us describe everything that happens between coffee and wine. Art lets us describe life, describe your present as you turn it into history. Art appeared in the universe when life emerged, to give shape to chaos until it became that sculpture, we call energy.

And today I see my surroundings decorated in so many shades of grey. This is nothing new; what happens is that information travels faster now with all this technology: internet, smart devices, artificial intelligence, the digital “cloud,” social media, Fintech, and many more things. Attacks are no longer just physical, but also cyber… digital, and bullies no longer hide only behind their sycophant friends, but also behind screens. Hatred travels at an incredible speed, but so does beauty. And I believe the following is very true:

1. You are the last five people you spend the most time with, at any given moment in your life… so, have you asked yourself what circle you are moving in? What information are you consuming? Are you maintaining a balance and verifying the truth of things… searching for the real story?
2. People today don’t want to educate themselves. People have become lazy and prefer to live in the comfort of their bubbles. They prefer to listen to a repeated rhythm of three notes than a melody composed of multiple notes and musical instruments.
3. And there are others who live totally isolated. And I ask them, what are you afraid of? Do you know the power of a sincere hug? Do you know the energy of laughter, or crying, when you do it in good company? Do you know why, even when you feel you have everything, you feel like something is missing?

You may ask why I share this reflection with you. You might think I’ll conclude that “because of how the world is, I can no longer find inspiration to write”… BUT NO, now is when good art and sharing knowledge are needed most.

So, my focus is rather on the word “history” and leaving you with this thought said throughout time: “those who do not know their history are condemned to repeat it.”

Yes, it’s true that the world is full of conflict; yes, there is a lot of hatred, and we are also falling into the fatigue of believing that “this is normal” or “if it’s not happening to me, and if I don’t see it, then it’s not happening.”

Let’s wake up and stop wasting time. There are many good causes that need you, because “it’s the little things in life” that matter and because if we all “put in a grain of sand,” as a community, we can achieve great things. We can learn from the past, to build a better future, starting in this present.

My cause is community and nature, because if we don’t take care of our natural resources then “where will we live,” “how will we survive,” “where will our loved ones play once we are gone?” I’m not the most ecological, but I try to consume resources responsibly and reduce my carbon footprint… what is your positive cause, your mark on this world? Are you here to make an impact or just passing through?

 Desde muy joven siempre me ha gustado leer, escribir historias. El arte es algo fascinante, que nos permite mostrar lo que interpretamos como lo bello, lo feo, lo bueno, lo malo y todo lo que queda en el medio. El arte nos permite describir todo lo transcurrido entre el café y el vino. El arte nos permite describir la vida, describir tu presente mientras lo vas convirtiendo en historia. El arte apareció en el universo cuando surgió la vida, para darle forma al caos hasta lograr esa escultura que le llamamos energía.

 Y hoy veo mi alrededor decorado de tantos tonos grises. Lo cual no es nada nuevo, lo que pasa es que la información viaja más rápido ahora con toda esta tecnología: internet, dispositivos inteligentes, inteligencia artificial, el “cloud” digital, la social-media, el Fintech, y muchas cosas más. Los ataques ya no son solo físicos, si no también cibernéticos… digitales, y los “bullies” no se esconde solo detrás de sus amigotes lambones, si no también detrás de pantallas. El odio viaja a una velocidad increíble, pero también lo bonito.  y creo que es mucha verdad lo siguiente:

1. Eres las ultimas 5 personas con las que mas te juntas, en un momento dado de tu vida … así que ¿Te has preguntado en que circulo te estas moviendo? ¿Qué información estas consumiendo? ¿Estas teniendo un balance y verificando la veracidad de las cosas… buscando la verdadera historia? 
2. Las personas hoy en día no quieren educarse. Las personas se han vuelto vagas y prefieren vivir en el confort de sus burbujas. Prefieren oír un ritmo repetido de tres notas, que una melodía compuesta por múltiple notas e instrumentos musicales. 
3. Y hay otros que viven totalmente aislados. ¿Y les pregunto, a que le tienes miedo? ¿Conoces el poder de un abrazo sincero? ¿Conoces la energía de la risa, o el llanto, cuando lo haces acompañado? ¿Sabes el porqué de que aun sintiendo que lo tienes todo, sientes que te falta algo? 

Preguntaras, del porqué de esta reflexión que comparto contigo. Pensarás que vendré con una conclusión de que “por como está el mundo ya no encuentro musa para escribir” … PERO NO, ahora es cuanto más se necesita el arte del bueno y compartir conocimiento. 

Así que mi enfoque es mas bien en la palabra “historia” y dejarte con este pensar dicho a través del tiempo “aquellos que no conocen su historia, están condenados a repetirla”.

Si, es verdad que el mundo esta lleno de conflicto; si, hay mucho odio y también estamos cayendo en la fatiga del creer que “esto ya es normal” o “si no me esta pasando a mí, y si no lo veo, pues no esta ocurriendo”. 

PERO, despertemos y dejemos de perder el tiempo. Hay muchas causas buenas que necesitan de ti, porque “son las pequeñas cosas en la vida” que valen y porque si todos “ponemos un granito de arena”, en comunidad, podremos alcanzar muchas cosas. Podemos aprender el pasado, para construir un mejor mañana, empezando en este presente. 

Mi causa es comunidad y la naturaleza, porque si no cuidamos nuestros recursos naturales entonces “¿Dónde viviremos?”, “¿cómo sobrevivimos?”, ¿“a donde jugaran nuestros seres queridos una vez nosotros no estemos?”. No soy el más ecológico, pero trato de consumir recursos de manera responsable y reducir mi huella de carbono (“carbon footprint”) … ¿Cuál es tu causa positiva, tu marca en este mundo? ¿Viniste de paso, o viniste a dejar una señal?

Como dice Diego Torres: “quiero cantar hasta morir y así dejar una señal”.
